I am sure this goes without saying, but Rourk is working so hard. He usually leaves the house at 7:15am and doesn't come home until after 6:00pm. I know that's what it takes since he's starting this business, but I still feel for him. I am just thankful he only has to drive about 15 minutes to his office. I helped out today and it was busy, busy, busy. As of this morning he has no appointments for about two weeks. That sounds great until someone calls in pain or some other emergency and you're trying to figure out where to fit them into the schedule. Like yesterday a gentleman came in that broke a front tooth and because he is getting married this Saturday he wanted something done so he would look good for his pictures. Can't blame him there. We put him on a priority list in case someone cancels their appointment. If all works out, we should be able to get him in and if all else fails, Rourk will come in early one morning and fix his tooth.
And school is going great for Ryan. I didn't ask for it, but Ryan got an extra day at the Meyer Center. At first I thought 4 days, that's a lot, but after talking it over with Rourk, we have decided to let him go. After all it is only a 1/2 day. I have also been able to work it out so that one of his individual speech sessions at the Meyer Center is on Wednesday morning's at 8:30. That means I can take him early and sit in with him. Speech is our main focus now and we spend as much time as possible working on sound production and improving his communication with us either by sign language or gestures. It's amazing how much he understands. For example, he has a teddy bear that he has become attatched to and the other day he was watching an alphabet video and the word that goes with H is hug...he hugged teddy and started patting him on the back. It was great.
Rourk's home. Rourk's home. Rourk's home. Hip, Hip, Hurray!
