Okay, there is one thing for sure about international adoption and that is all information is subject to change and tomorrow I may hear something new. So with that said here is the latest. I think I told you that several weeks ago a couple abused their son and that he was adopted from the region we have been assigned; thus the reason we had to have the psychological evaluation. I also think it goes without saying that the Ministry of Education would want to conduct an investigation to find out about the well-being of other children adopted too. Well, the have launched an investigation and news of it hit the internet and all kinds of rumors started circulating about the region closing. I questioned our agency about this and got the following response:
This information is not for the webboard. Oleg is working directly with the prosecutor...other agencies are not. He is very well respected (as is CWA) in Rostov and he knows our cases will work. This is a delay only. To be proactive, Oleg asked all CWA families that have adopted in Rostov to provide an additional post-placement report to show the prosecutor how well the children are doing...with 100% compliance and in about a weeks time. That speaks volumes for our families and their investment in the process and in Rostov. I have faith in Oleg and Rostov, but more so I have faith in the God of the universe who put in your heart to adopt and will lead you to your children or child.
Oleg is CWA's facilitator is Rostov.
Oleg was scheduled to meet with the prosecutor yesterday and we have no new information from CWA as of yet. I think our coordinator is on vacation until Monday. I hope we hear something the first of the week regarding the outcome of the meeting.
Other than that all is well. No big plans for the weekend. We're going to a hockey game tomorrow night. Yep! That's about it for now, but I am sure will come up with something else.
