It doesn't seem that long ago that we went to fraternity parties. While I was at UTM I dated a KA and was a Little Sister, so I went to my fair share. Then I met Rourk and he would take me to PIKE parties at Tech. I remeber this one time when we were at the PIKE house with Lee and Dal and the guys decided to cook biscuits at midnight on an old beat up stove in the basement. They put the biscuits directly on the rack and we all stood around watching them bake. The funny part--I don't think this was odd to them and I am almost certain they had done this before. Those days are behind us, now we go to children's birthday parties. We have been to four since Christmas. Last night was Aspen's party. She's our neighbor's daughter and recently turned six. Nothing like 20 little girls running around squealing and giggling. Oh, and having conversations like this one, "Raise your hand if you like Aspen." or "Raise your hand if you think I am good." After the party they had a sleep over and we talked to the Dad this morning and he said they finally had to make them go to sleep at around 3 am. I could sympathize with him, because Ryan kept us up until midnight suffering from a stomach ache. That's what happens when he has ice cream late at night. You would thinkwe would learn and not let him have it.
Our meeting with the psychologist went well. We met him at his office and he asked us about our families, what made us decide to adopt ect, ect. At one point Rourk was talking about his upbringing and Rourk laughed and said "this sound so Leave It to Beaver-ish." The psychologist laughed too and agreed. And then when we told him we had both been in Scouting until we graduated high school and had earned the Gold Award and the Eagle Scout, there was no turning back...we're totally square. All and all it was actually fun! We have our certificate in hand and I'll prepare it on Monday to be sent to the Secretary of State and then on to Russia.
One more thing completed. How can their be more?
