Killing Time.

Lilly is still taking her morning nap and it is stretching into the afternoon. Hey, I am not complaining. It is very rare that she takes a 4 hour nap. I guess she needed it because this morning she was hard to deal with. Crying and whining and such. She wasn't even happy when I was holding her. That's a girl for you.

Ryan is watching television and I am here, killing time in front of the computer.

I'll admit; I have been looking for sewing inspiration. I have enjoying making Lilly a few things this fall and have plans to make more things for her after Christmas. For example, I made this reversible pinafore for her. I also made the pants she is wearing in this slide show. The fabrics I used for the pinafore and pants are nothing special. They were just something I had around the house in my stash. The first time I make something I generally have a practice run and use a inexpensive fabric. Good thing, because I had to take the reversible pinafore apart twice to figure out the correct sequence for turning it inside out, thus making it reversible. See, I made the pattern using white craft paper and didn't have direction.

I digress. What I was going to tell you is I love fabric and picking it out is the best part of sewing. I have spent hours looking at it on the internet. Well, what do you expect me to do; it is hard to take two kids to a fabric shop. There aren't any good ones here in Greenville anyway. I am in love with Amy Butler, Micheal Miller, and Robert Kaufman. There are so many more out there, but just not enough time to list them all. At first glance they probably seem too mature for little girl's apparel, but trust me when I tell you that the right combination of patterns can turn out the most adorable outfit. I also found Fabric Connection on eBay. What I like about their site is they show coordinating fabric. This is handy and takes away the guess work.

I am sure I have bored you enough. I also think I hear my little darling waking up. Wow, four and a half hours. That's a record breaking nap.
