Lilly

I decorated Ryan's nursery with a puppy theme and purchased a copy of this book and a few others like it to use as decoration on a small bookshelf in his room. They stayed there until we moved Ryan to his own room when he was almost three. We seldom if ever read these books, but I decided to tuck them away on a shelf in the nursery when we redecorated it for Lilly instead of tossing them in the Goodwill box.

I am so glad that I kept the books because Lilly loves them. The one pictured above is her favorite. Each night before I put her to bed I position myself on the floor in her room and tell her she can pick out a book from the shelf. She gets Funny Puppies every time. She then runs back over to me and flops into my lap with the book held tightly in her hands. We then look at the pictures together, Lilly not missing a page and giving each pup the name "Doggie." We've been doing this together for several weeks now and it is starting to feel like I have looked at the book a million times, but I still delight in the excitement in Lilly's eyes and the smile on her face as she looks at her funny puppies.

Marcy, your beautiful homemade designs make me wonder if I could get away with putting a pinafore on Sam....? Maybe if it was in UT fabric????? (!!)

(...perhaps I am getting cabin fever and desperately need some fresh air......)
