Today's Post.

Each Saturday morning I wake with a touch of child-like anticipation. Saturday is when I get to sleep in just a wee bit later. I get to linger over a cup of coffee. I also get to make a long list of plans for the day. Yes, without fail that is how I usually go to bed thinking on Friday night. Never mind that the kids always seem to wake up earlier on Saturday morning than any other day of the week, and even though I always get a cup of coffee I don't think one would call how I drink it as lingering. And Rourk and I are usually debating our plans for the day right up until noon. That's when we start to get annoyed with each other and finally just settle on something.

Today we decided to go to Lowes and pick up a few things for our painting project, which by the way is coming along. It's a slow-go since we can't work on it until after the kids have gone to bed, but we are getting there.

We also went to a local nursery and bought blueberry bushes and several other shrubs that unfortunately I can not pronounce. The former owners of our house believed in boxwoods and we are in the process of tearing them all out and replacing them with new landscaping. Rourk spent the rest of the afternoon breaking his back putting all this in the ground. I kept myself busy watching Ryan and Lilly and working on Lilly's quilt.

So, that sums up our Saturday. We ended the day with good ole frozen pizza and a chardonnay. My motto: everything is better with chardonnay.
